Sunflower Avenue (The Snake Fang Gold Charm)
This is a limited edition collection piece we have ethically sourced from a snake sanctuary here in California. Every tooth is found on the ground and gathered from the soil. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the Sunflower Avenue will go to the efforts of the SPCALA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles).
In Norse mythology, Vikings believed that teeth held magical significance. Being gifted a tooth or a bone from an animal as jewelry would be very special and important, because it would not only be jewelry; it would be protection and armor, and an addition to one's personality and spirit.
The Vikings believed that if you took in an animal's tooth or bone, you would essentially take over the animal's character, and strength. You would become one with the animal, and it would continue to live on through you.
Scandinavians still use children's milk teeth in jewelry. I grew up remembering grandmothers having a tooth for each of their grandkids around their necks, and I just never lost that fascination with what a gem a tooth actually is. The tooth fairy actually comes from Norse mythology, although from a very different background than we know of her today. She was originally a fairy that the Vikings would call to in battle.
Although we are not living in the same times as the Vikings, we still have our own battles to fight. Why not take on a little more strength and resilience from the spirit of a snake?
Every snake tooth is framed against a solid 14k wall and covered with hard resin. The back is perfect for engraving! The pendants' sizes depend on the size of the tooth, as they are custom made for each tooth, but they range from approximately 12mm to 14mm.
Made to play well with all other jewelry pieces, this charm should be worn as much as possible. Wear it as armor. Wear it as a talisman.
