This is truly a piece of jewelry from the heart.
I got this unique brooch from London, England.
A young woman, Margaret, died at age 25, and someone wanted to memorialize her, so they took a lock of her hair and gave it to a jeweler, who then encased it under glass, carefully framed it with gold and Old English letters IN MEMORY OF, and hand engraved her name and date of birth on the back delicately.
This is a rare collectible, and it's hard to pass along. I was going to use the pin on the back to make an invisible bail, so the piece could be converted into a charm, but I will leave that decision up to the next owner.
Incredible condition for being a couple of years shy of 200 years old.
This is really a piece of love and history.
