In some thirteenth-century Norse cultures, the vikings would take their kids' baby teeth with them on necklaces with little leather pouches, and wore them as good luck charms. It was a way of keeping their children close to them, not knowing if they would ever return home.
Well, you don't have to go crusading across the seas for the sentiments of this charm to have the same meaning now as it did back then. This is your chance to make your child's baby tooth into a gold charm, one that will be your most prized possession, that you never want to be without.
The irony here is not lost on me. Instead of pressing a diamond into a gold nugget, we've used a baby tooth, my own son's first tooth, a material most inexpensive, and created a piece of jewelry worth more to a mother than the rarest of high carat diamonds.
The Crescent Heights charm is my take on a piece of jewelry I personally saw many examples of growing up in Copenhagen in the 90's. Inspired by Danish mothers and grandmothers wearing these tooth charms around their necks, I wanted to do a baby tooth revival, because quite honestly, I too, want to bottle up my kids' memories, and milestones, to cherish forever.
This charm is a modern take on a fine heirloom jewelry piece made by simply applying a 14k handmade gold nugget around your child's tooth, securing 3/4 of the tooth with solid gold, and as an extra touch, we add a little engraving on the back of this organic design.
This charm is made to last for many lifetimes to come, and that baby tooth texture coupled with the buttery shine of solid gold, is kind of magical.
